Query author contributions in Reactome

Reactome depends on collaboration between our curation team and outside experts to assemble and peer-review its pathway modules. The integration of ORCID within Reactome enables us to meet a key challenge with authoring, curating and reviewing biological information by incentivizing and crediting the external experts that contribute their expertise and time to the Reactome curation process. More information is available at ORCID and Reactome.

If you have an ORCID ID that is not listed on this page, please forward this information to us and we will update your Reactome pathway records.

textGuanylate-binding protein 1 (GBP1) localizes to the lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-rich outer membranes of cytosolic Gram-negative bacteria in GTP-dependent manner (Kutsch M et al., 2020; Santos JC et al., 2020). It binds bacterial LPS with high affinity through electrostatic interactions. Membrane association of GBP1 depends largely on the accessibility of its farnesyl tail (Shydlovskyi S et al., 2017). In its inactive state without nucleotides, GBP1 is a monomer with the farnesyl group sequestered within a hydrophobic pocket, preventing membrane interaction. GTP binding to GBP1 triggers structural shifts enabling exposure of the farnesyl moiety of GBP1 for membrane interaction, GTPase activation, and oligomerization of GBP1 on bacterial membranes (Shydlovskyi S et al., 2017; Sistemich L et al., 2021; Ince S et al., 2021; Weismehl M et al., 2024; Kuhm T et al., 2025).
