Query author contributions in Reactome
Reactome depends on collaboration between our curation team and outside experts to assemble and peer-review its pathway modules. The integration of ORCID within Reactome enables us to meet a key challenge with authoring, curating and reviewing biological information by incentivizing and crediting the external experts that contribute their expertise and time to the Reactome curation process. More information is available at ORCID and Reactome.
If you have an ORCID ID that is not listed on this page, please forward this information to us and we will update your Reactome pathway records.

| text | A decarboxylated derivative of AGT(25-32) (Angiotensin-(1-8)) designated Angiotensin A (Ang A) was discovered circulating in human blood (Jankowski et al. 2007). The N-terminal aspartate residue of AGT(25-32) is decarboxylated to yield an alanine residue, thus the sequence of Ang A is Ala-Arg-Val-Tyr-Ile-His-Pro-Phe. The enzyme that catalyzes the decarboxylation reaction is not yet identified. The C-terminal phenylalanine residue of Ang A is cleaved by ACE2, yielding Alamandine, a ligand of MRGPRD (MrgD) which may act in the counter-regulatory (anti-hypertensive, anti-inflammatory) axis of the renin-angiotensin system (reviewed in Bader et al. 2024, Proença et al. 2024). |
| (summation) | [BlackBoxEvent:9944540] AGT(25-32) is decarboxylated to yield 1-Ala-AGT(25-32) (des(Asp1)-(Ala1)-Ang II, Angiotensin A) [Homo sapiens] |
