Query author contributions in Reactome

Reactome depends on collaboration between our curation team and outside experts to assemble and peer-review its pathway modules. The integration of ORCID within Reactome enables us to meet a key challenge with authoring, curating and reviewing biological information by incentivizing and crediting the external experts that contribute their expertise and time to the Reactome curation process. More information is available at ORCID and Reactome.

If you have an ORCID ID that is not listed on this page, please forward this information to us and we will update your Reactome pathway records.

textThe antigen bound by the BCR is internalized (inferred from mouse cells in Batista et al. 2001, Fleire et al. 2006, Natkanski et al. 2013, reviewed in Adler et al. 2017, Roberts and Taraska 2023). B cells employ three different mechanisms to endocytose the BCR: phagocytosis, clathrin-mediated endocytosis, and fast endophilin mediated endocytosis (reviewed in Roberts and Taraska 2023).
Small pieces of the membrane of the follicular dendritic cell (FDC) are also internalized (inferred from mouse cells in Batista et al. 2001, Natkanski et al. 2013), indicating that the B cell pinches off and excises entire sections of membrane from the FDC rather than only removing the antigen. The antigen is then processed for display on MHC II complexes located on the plasma membrane of the B cell (inferred from mouse cells in Fleire et al. 2006, reviewed in Roche and Furuta 2015). Unphosphorylated BCR is internalized therefore internalization of BCR:antigen and phosphorylation-based signaling by the BCR are dynamically coordinated in space and time (Hou et al. 2006).
