Query author contributions in Reactome

Reactome depends on collaboration between our curation team and outside experts to assemble and peer-review its pathway modules. The integration of ORCID within Reactome enables us to meet a key challenge with authoring, curating and reviewing biological information by incentivizing and crediting the external experts that contribute their expertise and time to the Reactome curation process. More information is available at ORCID and Reactome.

If you have an ORCID ID that is not listed on this page, please forward this information to us and we will update your Reactome pathway records.

literatureReference[LiteratureReference:9843787] Cold-inducible Zfp516 activates UCP1 transcription to promote browning of white fat and development of brown fat
[LiteratureReference:9843754] Control of brown and beige fat development
textBased on studies in mice, transcription factors ZNF516 and PRDM16, which are able to form a complex, directly stimulate transcription of UCP1 gene in response to noradrenergic signaling triggered by exposure to cold (Dempersmier et al. 2015). UCP1 gene encodes Ucoupling protein 1, specifically expressed in the mitochondrial inner membrane of brown and beige adipocytes. UCP1 uncouples oxidative respiration from ATP synthesis, allowing for the released chemical energy to dissipate as heat (reviewed in Wang and Seale 2016).
