Query author contributions in Reactome
Reactome depends on collaboration between our curation team and outside experts to assemble and peer-review its pathway modules. The integration of ORCID within Reactome enables us to meet a key challenge with authoring, curating and reviewing biological information by incentivizing and crediting the external experts that contribute their expertise and time to the Reactome curation process. More information is available at ORCID and Reactome.
If you have an ORCID ID that is not listed on this page, please forward this information to us and we will update your Reactome pathway records.

| text | Voltage-dependent L-type calcium channels (LTCCs) transport Ca2+ into excitable cells such as neurons. LTCCs are multisubunit complexes consisting of alpha-1, alpha-2, beta, delta and gamma subunits in a 1:1:1:1:1 ratio (Brust et al. 1993). The alpha-2 and beta subunits in these complexes are chains of differing length cleaved from the same gene products (CACNA2D1, 2 and 3), linked by a disulfide bond (Calderon-Rivera et al. 2012). Pore-forming alpha1 subunits are supported by the auxiliary alpha-2, delta and beta subunits which aid the membrane trafficking of the alpha1 subunit and modulate the kinetic properties of the channel (Klugbauer et al. 2003). The influx of Ca2+ into the cell stimulates neurotransmitter release. |
