Query author contributions in Reactome

Reactome depends on collaboration between our curation team and outside experts to assemble and peer-review its pathway modules. The integration of ORCID within Reactome enables us to meet a key challenge with authoring, curating and reviewing biological information by incentivizing and crediting the external experts that contribute their expertise and time to the Reactome curation process. More information is available at ORCID and Reactome.

If you have an ORCID ID that is not listed on this page, please forward this information to us and we will update your Reactome pathway records.

textCytosolic PGP (Glycerol-3-phosphate phosphatase) catalyzes the hydrolysis of G3P (glycerol 3-phosphate) to glycerol and phosphate. This reaction is inferred from the properties of the human enzyme overexpressed in mouse cells (Mugabo et al. 2016). The enzyme is inferred to function as a homodimer with one Mg++ ion bound to each subunit, from the properties of the mouse enzyme (Seifried et al. 2014). Al-Maas et al. (2022a,b) hypothesize that PGP, by dissipating glucose-derived glycerol in the liver and pancreas, may play a role in minimizing the effects of hyperglycemia. In the male gonad, PGP activity may be required for normal spermatogenesis (Oppong et al. 2024).
