Query author contributions in Reactome

Reactome depends on collaboration between our curation team and outside experts to assemble and peer-review its pathway modules. The integration of ORCID within Reactome enables us to meet a key challenge with authoring, curating and reviewing biological information by incentivizing and crediting the external experts that contribute their expertise and time to the Reactome curation process. More information is available at ORCID and Reactome.

If you have an ORCID ID that is not listed on this page, please forward this information to us and we will update your Reactome pathway records.

textThe short-chain dehydrogenases/reductases (SDR) family is a large family of NAD- or NADP-dependent oxidoreductase enzymes. 17-beta-hydroxysteroid dehydrogenase 13 (HSD17B13) is a recently-discovered member of this family whose physiological function is unknown (Liu et al. 2007). It has, however, been found to associate with lipid droplets and is significantly upregulated in patients with nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) which is characterised by an accumulation of lipid droplets in the liver. In a murine model of fatty liver and diabetes, mice with fatty livers show upregulated expression of HSD17B13, suggesting a pathogenic role for HSD17B13 in NAFLD development (Su et al. 2014). Its role in lipid droplet function under normal physiological conditions is unknown.
