| text | A recombinant human CHEK1 forms a complex with and phosphorylates a recmbinant human CDC25C on serine residue S216 (Sanchez et al. 1997). Phosphorylation of CDC25C at S216 results in both the inhibition of CDC25C phosphatase activity and the creation of a 14-3-3 docking site (Peng et al. 1997). Ectopic overexpression of the human CDC25C S216A mutant reduces the ability of cells to arrest in G2 in response to DNA damage (Sanchez et al. 1997). |
