Query author contributions in Reactome
Reactome depends on collaboration between our curation team and outside experts to assemble and peer-review its pathway modules. The integration of ORCID within Reactome enables us to meet a key challenge with authoring, curating and reviewing biological information by incentivizing and crediting the external experts that contribute their expertise and time to the Reactome curation process. More information is available at ORCID and Reactome.
If you have an ORCID ID that is not listed on this page, please forward this information to us and we will update your Reactome pathway records.

| text | The SLC40A1 (Ferroportin, FPN1) gene is transcribed to yield mRNA which is translated to yield protein. SLC40A1 mRNA increases in response to desferrioxamine and decreases in response to iron (Zoller et al. 2002). The 5' untranslated region of SLC40A1 mRNA contains an iron responsive element (IRE) that binds iron regulatory protein in the presence of iron and represses translation (Lymboussaki et al. 2003). The SLC40A1 gene produces at least three alternative mRNAs and only about half of the total transcripts contain an IRE (Cianetti et al. 2005). As inferred from the mouse homolog, transcription of SLC40A1 increases in response to zinc. |
