Query author contributions in Reactome

Reactome depends on collaboration between our curation team and outside experts to assemble and peer-review its pathway modules. The integration of ORCID within Reactome enables us to meet a key challenge with authoring, curating and reviewing biological information by incentivizing and crediting the external experts that contribute their expertise and time to the Reactome curation process. More information is available at ORCID and Reactome.

If you have an ORCID ID that is not listed on this page, please forward this information to us and we will update your Reactome pathway records.

commentFUNCTION Catalyzes the addition of GlcNAc or GlcUA monosaccharides to the nascent hyaluronan polymer. Therefore, it is essential for the synthesis of hyaluronan, a major component of most extracellular matrices that has a structural role in tissue architecture and regulates cell adhesion, migration and differentiation. This is one of the isozymes catalyzing that reaction. Also able to catalyze the synthesis of chito-oligosaccharide depending on the substrate (By similarity).CATALYTIC ACTIVITY [hyaluronan](n) + UDP-N-acetyl-alpha-D-glucosamine = N-acetyl-beta-D-glucosaminyl-(1->4)-[hyaluronan](n) + UDP + H(+)CATALYTIC ACTIVITY N-acetyl-beta-D-glucosaminyl-(1->4)-[hyaluronan](n) + UDP-alpha-D-glucuronate = [hyaluronan](n+1) + UDP + H(+)COFACTOR Glycan biosynthesis; hyaluronan biosynthesis.INTERACTION Widely expressed. Highly expressed in ovary followed by spleen, thymus, prostate, testes and large intestine. Weakly expressed in small intestine.SIMILARITY Belongs to the NodC/HAS family.SEQUENCE CAUTION Truncated N-terminus.
