Query author contributions in Reactome

Reactome depends on collaboration between our curation team and outside experts to assemble and peer-review its pathway modules. The integration of ORCID within Reactome enables us to meet a key challenge with authoring, curating and reviewing biological information by incentivizing and crediting the external experts that contribute their expertise and time to the Reactome curation process. More information is available at ORCID and Reactome.

If you have an ORCID ID that is not listed on this page, please forward this information to us and we will update your Reactome pathway records.

commentFUNCTION Essential component of the signal peptidase complex (SPC) which catalyzes the cleavage of N-terminal signal sequences from nascent proteins as they are translocated into the lumen of the endoplasmic reticulum (PubMed:3511473, PubMed:8444896). Essential for the SPC catalytic activity, possibly by stabilizing and positioning the active center of the complex close to the lumenal surface (By similarity).SUBUNIT Component of the signal peptidase complex paralog A (SPC-A) composed of a catalytic subunit SEC11A and three accessory subunits SPCS1, SPCS2 and SPCS3 (PubMed:3511473). Component of the signal peptidase complex paralog C (SPC-C) composed of a catalytic subunit SEC11C and three accessory subunits SPCS1, SPCS2 and SPCS3 (PubMed:3511473). Within the complex, interacts with SEC11A or SEC11C and SPCS1 (By similarity). The complex induces a local thinning of the ER membrane which is used to measure the length of the signal peptide (SP) h-region of protein substrates (By similarity). This ensures the selectivity of the complex towards h-regions shorter than 18-20 amino acids (By similarity).SUBCELLULAR LOCATION Occurs in 2 differentially glycosylated forms (22 kDa and 23 kDa).SIMILARITY Belongs to the SPCS3 family.
