Query author contributions in Reactome

Reactome depends on collaboration between our curation team and outside experts to assemble and peer-review its pathway modules. The integration of ORCID within Reactome enables us to meet a key challenge with authoring, curating and reviewing biological information by incentivizing and crediting the external experts that contribute their expertise and time to the Reactome curation process. More information is available at ORCID and Reactome.

If you have an ORCID ID that is not listed on this page, please forward this information to us and we will update your Reactome pathway records.

textCobalamins in a +3 oxidation state and with various R groups (collectively, RCbl) are present in the diet as free molecules or complexed with dietary protein. The glycoprotein transcobalamin 1 (TCN1 aka haptocorrin, HC, TCII), produced by salivary glands (Morkbak et al. 2007, Wang et al. 2019), binds free RCbl and in the stomach binds RCbl freed by the initial digestion of dietary protein. In its complexed form acid-sensitive RCbl is protected from degradation in the stomach (Nielsen et al. 2012) and is available for endocytosis.
(summation)[Reaction:3132759] TCN1 binds RCbl [Homo sapiens]
