| text | N-acetyl-p-benzoquinone imine (NAPQI) is the reactive intermediate of the analgesic and antipyretic, acetaminophen (INN, paracetamol). At usual doses, NAPQI is quickly detoxified by conjugation but in overdose situations, NAPQI is extremely toxic to liver tissue. |
